JT Strongarms
Do you guys that have the JT Strong arms take the T handle that is used to tighten them out when transporting your camper? Dealer told me to take them out or they would fall out and get lost. Just curious what you guys do.

Made mine L shaped so they wouldn't turn going down the highway. So far, so good for 8 yrs I haven't lost one.

I had them front and back on my wildcat 5er. Towed it for 3 years, never removed the t handles, never tightened them down while towing and never lost one.

We just installed ours last fall so we've only used the trailer a couple of times since then. Up to this point, we have not removed the handles. Curious to see if anyone has lost theirs during travel.

I tighten mine in transport and never had one come loose. I could see if you mount the arms with the handles down that they could fall off if you didn't tighten them or take them off.

x's 2 I do not retighten them. Can you lose them probably yes. But I'm to lazy to retighten 6 handles. Carry an extra one call LCI they will fix you up with a spare. They own JT StrongArms.

It's this very reason that I installed the BAL version of the JT's...a crank jack handle that I cut off at 8 inches fits perfectly onto the tightening nut and my battery powered drill sets them nicely.

Hijack - I went with the winfield rv products version. The rv frame is completely enclosed so the install was much simpler, plus there is no chance of anything falling off. I also got the landing leg extension which will come in handy.

Ours have a triangular knob that is easy on the hands and takes 13 turns to come out. We haven't lost a knob in 8 years of fulltime use. Hugs, Di

Most times I do have mine off during travel only because I take them off while in storage so they won't get stolen

Never tightened them - them on a short haul lost one. Made a new one from a SS bolt heated and bent 90*. Now I just snug them a tad, loosen them when dropping inner legs.

I usually tighten them but have on many occasions forgotten of have had others towing (camper to/from factory twice). Haven't lost any, but when I had to order an inner tube for one of mine after raising my landing gear without tightening them- I ordered 4 extra T handles and threw them in my spare parts bin. Still have all 4 after 2 years and close to 10k towed miles.
