Lights

I have a new 2021 Columbus 366RL purchased 5/4/21.
I have lights that aren’t working: the step light, the basement light and the outside light at the basement.
Any idea what to do?

Since they are 12v items, have you checked the fuse panel?

I went out and look at the basement and I found this red stuff has leaked on my battery cables and other wires. What is this?

That red stuff is hydraulic fluid for the operation of your slides and/or jacks.
With all slides/jacks retracted, you should find the fluid level up near the top of the container. DO NOT ADD FLUID WITH SLIDES/JACKS EXTENDED.

If you don’t have a digital meter to check your fuses, it’ll be difficult to know if one is blown.

Why is it on the wires, even the ones up high by the light, and will that have any reason why the lights don’t work?

Do you not know how to check each fuse? I'd pull each one and inspect each of them.

It could be that the tank was overfilled with fluid with the jacks extended. When the jacks were retracted, the excess oil would have sprayed out a vent in the reservoir tank. I doubt that is why the lights are not working. I would check the fuses with a meter (resistance [ohms] function). Especially the fuse marked pass-thru.
