New Palomino Owner

Hello everyone.
First time checking into this side of the boards!

Wife and I just signed a purchase order for a 2020 Palomino Solaire 268BHSK. This trailer will replace our hail damaged Cherokee Grey Wolf 26DJSE.

What tidbits of useful information can you experienced owners give a new guy? This will be our first trailer with slides and an outside kitchen.

Thanks!

No outdoor kitchen but we have had our Compass 329DV for about a year now and love it. It is covered on a lake lot and we use it just about every weekend. Enjoy your new getaway

We have a puma with rear bunk and outdoor kitchen with a 30 amp service. If you do not have the 50 amp upgrade you will need to be very careful on your amp loads. With two microwaves (they are switched only one at a time), a large refrigerator, A/C, and locations for four TV’s, lighting loads you can see you can easily blow past 30 amps especially if A/C is running (14 amps alone) so be careful or you will be blowing main breaker

We have the 329dvc. I have a heck of a time getting the door unlocked. The salesman says I am too short and won’t be able to open it with the stairs in. Do you have any tips on getting this door open? We have never had one with a handle.

A stepstool perhaps? That would be the cheapest solution.
Why the heck would they make a door that a short person can't unlock?
There may be an aftermarket solution available, and perhaps the salesperson can find you one and get it installed before you buy.

Compass lock

Well too late we purchased it. So when you unlock your door you just unlock both locks and pull the handle? You don’t have to push anywhere beside the handle. Really thinking something is wrong with our door. Oh joy!
