That's most people's reaction. From what I recall, it draws 11 amps until down to temp, then draws around 3 amps average. I'm going to have two 6 volt agm batteries rated at 190 amp hours, so I should have plenty of juice to last between generator runs for the A/C and what-not...
I've read a lot of positive things about this fridge (brand Everchill). You can still get a propane unit as an option, but I think it costs more now as an upgrade - probably due to the extra work of running propane lines and cutting vents in the wall and roof (this fridge does not require those vents).
