Tank sensors

So we just purchased a 2013 Palomino Solaire 297RLDS. It's in great condition and I think we got it a good price. My black tank and one gray tank read full all of the time. Is there an easy fix for this? Thanks on advance for any help.

On the black tank, dump a bag of ice down the toilet and drive around. That should take care of cleaning off those sensors. Not sure how to clean off the grey tank. Maybe a dose of water softener and having it halfway full and driving around.

i haven't tried that yet but that's what i have also read, you might get a flush wand form gander or amazon(15 bucks) and rinse out the tank really well and a couple of flushes, I did that on my previous tt and amazed how much more poop came out, rinse until clean water comes out of the dump valve

Treat both tanks with Unique’s RV-Digest-It.

Use 1/2 quart in each tank; fill with warm - not hot - water and wait 72 hours. There is dried soap and other slime on the walls of the tanks that is shorting the sensors.

Dump and fill with fresh water; then dump again.

Be prepared for some nasty dumps the first two times.

That post was from my phone.

Here is some more info on fixing your indicators.

I am convinced the fault is with dried crud on the tank walls. ICE will never fix your problem; only a good soaking with a bacteria and enzyme bath will dissolve that slime. Here is a good video on the "why".

Happy to see the simple fix worked!

Should it become a frequent problem, please do try an enzyme treatment. Folks had also had good results with RID-X septic tank treatment.
