Toured my Columbus 320RS today!!
I stopped by my dealer and checked out my 320RS today. I just happen to be in the neighborhood.
My salesman was busy with another customer, so I "snuck" into the shop.
It's in the service department getting prepped, TV installation, Maxi Air, etc.
The King bed is BIG!! The woodwork and cabinets are beautiful. I got the full wood vinyl floor which is really nice.
We pick it up Friday, can hardly wait!

There is hardly anything more exciting that beats getting a new RV.

Yes, but then you have to move all your stuff... what a buzz kill!
Since I did mine over the winter, it took me about 3 weeks to get everything re-loaded in the new camper. But, I weeded out all the stuff we did not use anyway. I will have a nice yard sale this summer, sell all the stuff we don't use to get money to buy new stuff.

Now that is an idea! Would definitely have the right targeted audience to move a truckload of unneeded camping supplies.... Unfortunately, I am sure the camp host would frown upon the notion.

That sounds like a good idea to me-- a "Camping Swap Meet". Camp grounds could set that up as one of their weekend events.

Amxress,
How did the PDI go? Camping in the driveway? Now you have room for the MIL!

Loving ours so far. Make sure they test your black water flush. My check valve was installed backwards and water lines had to simply be switched. This is common error according to other Rv forums!!!

The walk around and PDI went well. Nothing earth shattering, just more bells and whistles. Stayed out for two nites in it before returning home. It stormed and hailed, and stormed some more. No leaks! A molding pulled away from one of the slides, have an appointment next month to fix it.
The amenities are great. LOVE the huge shower and King bed, though wish I would have upgraded the mattress. I will probably install some stabiliozers to make it more solid when set up in camp.
Heading up to my favorite trout fishing spot next month, can't wait to take it out again!

We are going to be new to fifth wheel camping, having camped in a TT previously. Just trying to learn all the ins and outs. What type of additional stabilizers are you considering? If they are needed, I would just as soon have our dealer install prior to delivery. Is this in addition to a tripod stabilizer or do you feel that the tripod isn't needed?

The TRIPOD helps a little, but sometimes you cant use it because it depends on how level the site is to ebgin with, but i think the wedge between the tires and the bars to the down riggers would be most beneficial. I dont have either of them yet, but i'm getting the wedge first to see how that works.

Hey Hotrodj125!
Sorry to be a pain in the "?$&@" but, I have no clue what " bars to the down riggers" are?
I see you are from Minnesota. Cedar is north of the cities, right? I have family in the Blaine area. We also have a summer place way up north in MN. - Angle Inlet, Northwest Angle. Don't use it as often as we would like - waiting for DH to retire. Only 357 days to go (but who's counting!).

Yep, just north of Blaine about 20 miles. The angle bars are the round pipe looking things that go from the frame down to the landing gear posts and the rear levelers- about 4 feet long with adjustment screws. I'm hoping to retire this year also, as soon as this road construction season is done with here.

The angle supports are called "Strong Arm Stabilizers" and the wedges I was talking about are the "Deluxe Tire Chock" wich go between the tires and adjust with a wrench to tighten up between the tires so they dont roll back and forth. Hope that helps more------ Have a good camping season. Did you get a 320RS too???

We are awaiting a 385. It is " online" now. I loved the 320, but needed a bunkhouse for the "extras", namely the most adorable pair of 8 yr. olds in the world! What we won't do for the grandbabies!
Thanks for your quick reply. I am looking at a pair of BAL X-chocks on Amazon right now. I believe I read somewhere that you should only put them on one side though. Anyone have any thoughts on that issue?

I have used chocks similar to those on my previous fiver. They helped a little, but did not eliminate the bounce inside the trailer. The best are the bars that mount between the frame and front and rear landing gear. There are a few brands available.
Here is but one make: JT's Strong Arm Jack Stabilizers

Thanks guys! You have both given me yet another class in owning a 5er. The education continues... More shopping for those little things to make camping more comfortable! "Roughing it" is highly overrated!😄⛺
