I can't imagine going into Carmel, CA or Moab UT with a long bed.
I have a 2500 crew cab long bed. In Oz most parking spaces are barely the length of a sedan. Undercover shopping car parks scrape my roof. Outdoor shopping parks are a no-no, unless.... In both I choose an out-of-the-way spot and park along a wall line and across at least 2 bays or if there is no wall, across 4 bays. That way no one hems me in.
