Since my towing of our camper is around only 15% of my total driving in my truck I think the convenience of the SB over the LB (significantly shorter turning radius) greatly outweighs the small inconvenience of having a slider or more recently a Reese Sidewinder hitch.

I would like to post a NEWSFLASH for all of you who think your setup is the PERFECT setup for EVERYONE on the planet.

Here is the Newsflash...............IT ISN"T!!!

They make all the different versions of trucks, RVs and most all products, because there are more than one Perfect solution for different people.

I don't mind advice, but I HATE criticism for my choices, particularly when those offering up such criticism typically have NO Earthly idea of my personal needs, uses or preferences.

This post is not in reply to anyone in particular, or even only this thread, BUT, as my Dad used to say "If the shoe fits, Wear it!"

How do yo not need to lower the gate? I'd smash mine unless I went way high to go over it.does not matter where the slide is at.

im sorry, what i meant was without slider, i had to lower gate back up so far raise gate to hookup, and reverse unhooking, with slider in the rear pos i can leave gate down and connect, it wont hit camper that way, sorry for confusion,

And they probably can’t fly a helicopter either.

100% agreement with this comment.

[PS to the other poster: I CAN fly a helicopter, and have the FAA Commercial/Instrument Pilot's Certificate to prove it! LOL]

I'm very happy that you love your long-bed. Man up and be happy for those who LOVE OUR SHORT-BEDS. The measure of a man is NOT the length of his bed.

That is accurate, succinct and cute. I wish I had come up with it.

If you would have started at the other end of that road with a long bed...your truck would still be up there.

And those shots were taken maybe 10 years ago...
