Using iPhone in basement radio
I plugged in my iPhone into the basement radio using the USB port wanting to listen to my music. It wouldn't work. Radio & CD player work fine. Wouldn't recognize the USB. Anyone else experience this?

I have this with the Jensen in our Surveyor 264, I wrote to them and it turns out their technology is about five years behind.

I'm not surprised (as an iPhone, iPad and iPod owner)- especially given the hints that it's possibly outdated technology. Most likely when you plug-in, it's looking for playable music files. On non-iPhones, you can see the music files. On iPhones, you can only see the pictures and videos that you record. To see what the radio sees, plug your phone into the computer and a drive will pop-up. Go look inside there. The iPhone doesn't show music.
That said- you can still play music if you plug in a 3.5mm male to male cable. They're like $8 from Radio Shack. OR- even better, if the head unit supports Bluetooth, connect via that and go wireless.

USB cable to a Droid phone doesn't work well either. It would play music on my HTC phone but the phone could not control the song list. The basement radio could only forward or backward a song at a time. A dedicated mp3 player might work. OR just put a bunch of mp3 files on a thumb drive and try that.
Better yet, s-can that round basement radio from China and replace it with something decent. Columbus already did it on the newer rigs they put out the door.

Yes that is what you have to do for the iPod,iPad,iPhone to play on these radios. It took us a few days to figure out. It sure does work great when you do. The other USB is for a basic MP3 player.

I tried my IPOD and it did not work either, I then used an audio cable with my IPOD and it worked fine, now I just use the headphone jack to my aux input on the radio!!

The new rigs have the rectangular standard radio and no USB. Just the 3.5mm jack on the radio.

Mine is the newer rectangle radio made by Boyo.
I used a 3.5 mm plug to connect to my iPhone & iPod. It doesn't let me control the iPod via the radio, but at least I get to listen to my music when outdoors.
Oh, Boyo!

They're made just down the road from a tire factory in China, especially for RV's.

Those Hisense TVs in the living room are from China. Hisense is one of China's best selling brands and considered top of the line over there.
Google Boyo electronics, then go to images. They make high end stuff also. Lots of backup cameras and touch screen audio rigs for cars.

I need to replace the TV's in my 5er and the wife says get what it came with but I am having a hard time finding them. I was going to put a Samsung smart TV in the living room, and a Visio in the bedroom
