Warranty Denied
Forrest River says through our dealer they will not cover the slide out seal that has failed and is leaking water into the coach. Who can I call? can I file a BBB report on them from out of state? The coach is a 2017 Puma 30rkss

You did not state if the warranty was still in force for your unit. Many only have a one year warranty and you are of course out side that warranty period. If your warranty is expired why would you consider this to still be FR's problem to repair.

Yikes.. I'm taking our 5th wheel into the dealer in August (earliest they could get me in) for some warranty work and a leaking window possibly caused by the slide seal is on the list.

was still within warranty when I took it in, they stated was denied because the seal had not been lubed properly. I can't imagine a seal drying our in one year. the coach has been in for slide adjustments a few times under warranty and nothing was said then or at delivery about having to maintain the seal.

You didn't clarify whether FR told you this directly or the dealer told you this.
I would contact Palomimo directly.

Finaly talked to forest river rhey sa aid no claim filed from the dealer. Dealer said verbal denied so to them that ment that they had filed a claim. Made them file and talked to mfg they are paying the claim. Lesson learned never trust an rv dealer to tell the truth

This is more common than the other way around.

Yes, indeed... and we always recommend an owner double check with his/her manufacturing line about warranty service AND parts orders. Dealers often say the FR line hasn’t shipped parts when, in fact, they never submitted an order.

In this case report the dealer to the BBB and spread the word.

I was told baby powder could be used, but IDK
I use this 'Slideout Rubber Seal Treatment'. Spray liberally on a rag and wipe both, the inner and outer seal completely on both sides. It mainly helps reducing the friction and makes the slides come in or out easier.

A representative for Cardinal told me on the phone recently they recommend NOTHING be done to the slide seals except a dusting of baby powder. Seems like various divisions of Forest River need to get their story straight (if in fact it truly was denied by Puma).

It wasn’t denied. See post #9.
