What is the deal with sabre??

I had a friend that just purchased a sabre and I thought they used to be a Palomino but I can't find them on their website. Now they show under forest river sabre but the model that he bought doesn't show on any factory website.

Model number 360qb- 2017

Anyone know the story??

It has been that way for several years. Sabre division is managed by a people that make buses. They had a real bad run of QC and split Palomino up. The Columbus is managed by the Rockwood/Flagstaff group now. The QC of Rockwood has been applied to the the Columbus.
Also Columbus introduced the Compass line that is comparable in price to the Sabre.
This happened in the summer of 2015. The Sabre i have seen at trailer shows have the bump in to road corrected and have regained the quality they were known for.

For a Sabre, they are on Forest River's web site here...
SABRE

If it is a new model, web sites are not always up to date.

I could be what happened to me Palomino discontinued my model hybrid and took all information from their website. Even older manuals. The quality control my 2014 Palomino Solaire was so bad I got rid of it last year.
Good luck with your searching.

Hmmm

My Palomino Solaire has been near perfect since purchased a couple of years ago. I have a smaller one the 201SS, purchased in July of 2015. After only a couple of warranty claims its been a near perfect trailer with absolutely no issues.

Maybe in that time frame something has changed?

Just my 2 cents.

I believe the Solaire line was built in a different factory than the Sabre line, which is no longer made by Palomino.
It was moved to the Forest River division.

Boy, I was glad to unload the 2014 Sabre. Many QC issues and poor workmanship. I had a soggy floor and more. The factory even admitted the poor QC, 2014 bad year. I said I would not get another FR unit, but saw the new Columbus 383FB and except for a few start up problems everything is great.

X2... my sabre was a pos. I vowed never to buy another FR product...

So I bought a Dynamax instead.

The Quality Control did not exist at the Sabre factory mine was built in 2013 33CKTS-6. The design was Good the materials were on a par with other RVS but the workmanship was TERRIBLE! Missing parts, stripped screws, parts not secured wrong parts, shower door tracks installed backeards allowing water to drain onto the floor instead of back to the shower drain I can go on and on. The Q.C. manager and most of the other management should have been fired. From what I've read Columbus is not much better. I took a tour of the Columbus factory last year during the F.R.O.G. INTERNATIONAL RALLY. We were told that the Amish workers are paid on piece work. They have set number of pieces to put out per day. Many work very fast and not carefully to get out that number, many times in four hours, then go home to farm their land. The workmanship has to suffer at that rate. In MY unit it sure did.

The quality did not improve on the 2015 models. My unit was returned to the factory for warranty work and now not only do I still have the original problems--but I have new ones as the result of what attempts they made. Trying to get someone to respond is virtually impossible. I have been on two trips so far in 2017 and I have serious doubts the trailer will hold together through the season. If anyone has the secret to get a person at FR to respond--please share!

The auto industry uses repairs per 100 vehicles as a guide to quality with 0 being a goal. I think the RV industry uses repairs per unit as a guide to Quality with 100 as a goal.
