Payload is defined as the difference between the shipped weight and the maximum gross weight of the truck. Since a diesel engine weighs about double that of a gas engine, it is logical that the remaining payload will be less.

Ok, I can't stand not knowing the proper length either. What about the 36CKTS? Is the interior 36' long?

To me the length overall should be measured from the further most foward edge of the pin bix to the rear most edge of the rear bumper. Any appendages to the rear bumper, carrying racks etc, should be also included in the overall length. I feel interior length would be rather difficult to measure.

A minor trouble with that is some of the things that extend length are options (carrying rack, specifically for my model).

My understanding is that the numbers in the model number have nothing to do with the actual length anymore. My 8526 is a perfect example. It is neither 85 feet long nor 26 feet long. It is 28 feet 9 inches from bumper to nose cap.

Agree with Lou - I was told that the 29 in our 29 RK Silverback FW was the length of the frame measured from the drop down in the front to the rear.
Spec sheet shows length to be 34 feet. Our front bedroom including the closet may be 6 feet long - not sure on that. Seems to be a bit longer than that though.

It's been my experience that the length listed in the specs for the floor plans are the correct length. My Silverback 29RL is listed as 34.5 feet long and by my measure that is correct. Both of my previous Wildcats had the correct length as listed in the specs for those fifth wheels.
In your case, the Cedar Creek 36 CKTS is listed as 39 feet long.

What I meant was how to actually measure it not manufacturer's specifications. Kind of confusing I guess.
