A Sticky is a thread that the administrator can flag as always staying at the top of a particular list. In this case, there are many useful links that are very informative.

Your state of residence. I say that because anything else is really evading the law. I know people do it to save a few bucks, but it's not something we ought to discuss on a public forum, is it?

As a full timer I currently don't have a state of residence. So I am looking for the most advantageous one to buy property and call home.

Generally speaking, most fulltimers opt for Texas, South Dakota, or Florida as none have state income tax. Each has other taxes - coworkers were just lamenting the cost of property taxes in Texas. I read an article that health care costs can vary dramatically in each state (and even with each mail forwarding service with the county that they're in).
I've just started the switch to Florida. I have health insurance through work, so that's a non-issue. The lack of state income tax should be a boon to my bottom line.2

We have hills in Missouri but nothing like described here. Glad to not have to figure this out by experience.
