Holy crap! That's horrible, I'm glad everyone is ok. How in the world did that happen though? Gas leak or something?

Glad everyone & Lab OK... sorry about the cats. Should be a reminder as to how fast RV/TTs can be consumed by fire... can't be too careful!
I'm surprised that the truck wasn't lost as well... had to be scarey getting it unhitched!

Yes, I realize that but based on the wind I wonder if an lp flame on the parked trailer could have been a contributing factor (or the cause). A few hours parked on 12v would just seem safer and shouldn't be a drain on the camper or RV battery.

Also true but would seem less likely except in the event of a major failure, which may have happened.

About 10 years ago while camping at the Lighthouse Campground at Rockport On a motor home went up in flames while parked at the campground. The fire department arrived with in 10 min. but all they could save was the frame. With luck they were parked about 6 feet away from a 200lb propane tank. The firemen kept the large tank cool. It is amazing how fast a RV unit will burn. It does not matter if you are towing or parked if there is a gas leak and a source of ignition you will have a fire.
