Forest River Warranty Question

I have a 2017 Georgetown 30x3 which is a month old. We had some warranty issues and brought it to Camping World in Panama City while visiting family. We picked it up today and was told we owed $200 since they did not find anything wrong with my air conditioner (my bedroom is hot at night and the air flow is not strong so I thought there might be a blockage). I was told by Camping World that if they check something and find nothing wrong Forest River does not pay them so it is the customers responsibility to pay. If I knew there was not a blockage or something wrong with the system I would not have them check. This is my third RV and have never had this happen. Has anyone else had a problem with warranty service not covered?

My A/C has a dampener at the unit. When open, more air is exhausted right at the unit; when slid closed, more air is pushed along the to the ceiling vents. It took me several days to "discover" that this option existed. Plenty of air moves when set up.

Ahh, the joy of "camping" never ceases. Kind of a target to take something to an out of market service point...kind of . . . aggressive for them to charge for what could be a 30 second look-see.

Did the CW service mgr tell you there would be a charge if they found nothing wrong?
Was there anything in writing that said there would be any type of minimum service charge?
And, did you read any of the fine print that might have stated you would be responsible for any type of "check"?
If you signed any type of work order that obliged you to pay for service or a minimum service charge, them you'll be responsible, unless you can get Forrest River to pick up the tab () which probably won't happen as they will claim the AC will fall under the AC's manufacturer warranty.

Yet another reason I do not purchase from or use Camping World repair shops. I strongly encourage you to contact Coach-Net and discuss a warranty with them (did you know Coach-Net is the agency that provides the 1 year Warranty with Forest River

Coach-Net will take into consideration your "Forest River" Warranty when they quote an extended warranty for you. Once you have this warranty you can take your rig to any RV repair shop (Coach-Net even has a roadside assistance rider you can purchase--a real handy addition for Class A owners!)

Here is our agent's contact info - giver her a call or drop her a email:

Also pickup the second year from Forest River .. Its more than worth it if it wasn't offered to you by your selling dealer.. Look into it.

I think the 2nd year warranty is only good on some towable units. I don't think Class A units are eligible for that 2nd year warranty.

It will make for a good post.

Read the agreement you signed when you took the RV to CW.

Nope, 2nd year factory warranty is only available for towables, not any of their motorhomes.
Pretty standard in the RV industry.
And it's not available for Coachmen, Dynamax or PrimeTime products.

Is this the one you have to purchase within 10 days of buying your camper?

If you bring your car into a shop, they hook up all the rest equipment for a complaint and find that everything is working according to specs after the technician spent one hour going over everything, should that be free? How will that technician get paid? Should he just donate his time because everything is operating properly. The Service people should have explained that to you when they wrote it up. Everyplace I have worked at has a diagnostic fee that is charged whether they find something or not, pretty standard.
