Forester, 2016 3051S, refrigerator defrost mode
I have a 2016 Forester 3051S with the 4 door refrigerator.
We have been having an issue with the refrigerator going into the automatic defrost mode and not returning to the cooling mode.
Have the unit set to approximately 36 degrees for normal cooling. When it goes into automatic defrost mode it usually goes up to approximately 42 degrees and then returns to cooling mode.
However, there have been a few times when it went as high as 50 degrees!
We had to dispose of a lot of food for fear of bacteria growth.
Ok, so here is what we have tried.
1. Usually have the unit set to AUTO so it would switch from shore power to LP as needed.
2. When the temperature got too high, switch from AUTO to full LP. The unit would usually start the cooling process.
3. When switched to LP, if the unit did not start cooling, I turned the completely OFF and ON a couple of times. That got the unit to start cooling.
4. Contacted Forest River Service Department and they said it COULD be the control panel. Not too reassuring on that comment.
Has anyone else had this sort of issue with the 4 door refrigerator?
