I bought a gallon of citronella oil for use in our coleman lanterns. According to the guy down at our farm supply store it's perfectly usable in them.

It is a good choice is like kerosene but helps repel bugs better. Since the state bird in Louisiana is the mosquito we need lots of it.
I use it in the smoke pots.
I'm making some smaller lanterns out of old Mason jars. I already have solar lamps made from Mason jars.
And my awning lights are made with miniature reproductions of a "salesman's sample" Mason jar from the 1800s.
