Mysterious cabinet chewer?

Every time we return to our seasonal, in the corner there is a small pile of black specks mixed with white. Noticed a few weeks back, the underside of pantry door slightly chewed? Put out a sticky trap in that corner to no avail…dust just on top. Last night definite chewing happening and every time I got up to catch whatever - stops. Took picture and now realized the cupboard door really chewed. Is it carpenter ants?
Not sure how to post pictures here

To me, it appears to be some type of rodent. Not familiar with species in your neck of the woods. Squirrel, Pack Rat or Chipmunk? Have you noticed any damage to foodstuffs?

It reminds me of the damage a raccoon will do to the side of a camp.

Termites and roaches leave scat that looks just like that.
While termites eat wood, they usually do so, in a not so open area.

Just notices mouse turds in a drawer, but the specks are not like that smaller. Sticky traps have always worked previously. Have left an old fashioned mouse trap in the drawer...

Not carpenter ants.
Something smaller... like a vole or shrew which are native to Ontario? A mouse perhaps? An exterminator or agricultural service could probably identify the critter by the droppings.

You need to take some stainless steel wool and plug any holes or gaps in the bottom of the trailer. Something thinks that your rig makes a wonderful winter home. Metal netting over the vents in the roof and vents for the refrigerator, water heater and furnace vents wouldn't hurt.

Good luck!

Looks as though you have a "house mouse".

An old-fashioned mouse trap bated with peanut butter will produce results. I recall recently getting a package of 4 for $1 or so at Walmart.
