RV Friendly Fuel Stops

I posted this on another RV forum and I thought I thought it might be of use to some folks here. It's a list of Flying J truck stops that have dedicated fuel lanes for RVs. There are also some Pilot Travel Centers with RV lanes. We printed it out and it comes in handy when time to refuel.

There is also one in Greenwood, LA I-10 exit 3. Has a Denny's, a casino and propane.

I can't see the attachment/pic for some reason. Great idea though.
We use the Pilot Flying J app and tells us where each one is on our route and what ammenities they offer. Also has a trip planning tool. Actually a useful app.

I've been using Pilot/Flying J travel centers almost exclusively for the past 20 years during RV travels. I actually plan my routes based on the availability of these places. I also have a Pilot/Flying J Rewards Card, which gives a discount on every gallon of fuel I buy, in addition to free coffees/drinks, etc from rewards points.

Regarding the locations with dedicated RV lanes, keep in mind that those are always at the front of the service center, usually to one side of the passenger car gasoline pumps. The problem is that the turns going into and exiting the RV lanes are sometimes too tight, especially if you have a big rig and pulling a trailer/toad. With my previous coach and toad, I was 56 feet long - which was very tricky maneuvering through some of those RV lanes. Now that I'm driving a diesel coach, I just go to the truck lanes in the back where there's plenty of room to maneuver.

The P/FJ on line listing doesn't show the Greenwood location having RV lanes. You can easily see them in Google Earth. The original listing is an XL spreadsheet and I eliminated all without RV lanes.

So did I when I had my 40’ DP. But now with my 24’ motorhome I find the large nozzle pumps overpower my fill tube. Actually, I only tried it once with bad results.

An additional note...I use the online PILOT app all the time AND my GoodSam membership card gets me 5cents off a gallon which pays for my membership. The card scans at their pumps right after you swipe your credit card.

Since I have a shorter rig...I also use the GAS BUDDY app which will give you the price at every gas station around so you can save that way too...works great for the TV too.

Finally... if you need non ethanol the PureGas app is a great resource.

The RV lanes are a great thing when they are in working order. But for some reason I seem to find a lot of problems with the pumps. They don't seem to be a high priority in servicing them.

X2 on truck lanes.
I have no issues on filling up my pick-up truck in these lanes. Just set the handle on slow and let the tank fill up.

Pilot Flying J

Hi guys not sure if you all are aware there is diesel gas saving card that is free, yes free. It’s TSD Logistics EFFS card look it up and watch YouTube videos about this card. I save a lot on fill ups from $10 to $25 per fill up. Flying J give measly 5 to 8 cents off. Check this TSD card out. Thanks Jim M

TSD Logistics Card

Hi there yes you have to give your SS# but me too was like why, but all in all it’s safe. The reason behind is for your transaction security. If you check out YouTube videos on this you will see that all is safe. Again this is like a credit card for gas. As far as fees there are no fees to get the card unless you need to have the card shipped to you overnight. There is a $ 50 next day air. But card normally takes about 2 weeks to get to your house. Hope this help. Jim M

Really stupid question here: I’m assuming that truck lanes are diesel only, yes?

TSD card

Yes this is for diesel vehicles and must be used in the tractor trailer lanes for fueling only. Plus you can add DEF fuel also
