Lots of bike stores here in the Austin area!
You can find some great deals on used Mtn bikes, since one about has to give it away to sell it. I'm sure a standard hardtail (no frame shock) but good front fork shocks for the bike to be used with the child seat. Mtn biking is such an evolving hobby, it's tough to keep up with all the innovations. As for wheel size, 26" 27.5" or 29" shouldn't really matter. I could ramble all night and day about Mtn biking LOL
