BCS Championship Game

BAMA and the SEC just showed the IRISH what grown up football is all about!

I would have liked to see anyone other than ND play them for the championship. Heck, any game that was half as good as the SEC championship game would have been a good one to watch.

My alma mater, UGA, was five yards away from playing for the National Championship. What a tough loss to have to live down, especially when I live in Alabama. None the less, I'm still proud that the title remained in the hands of the SEC. Seven years in a row.

I love to hear fans in the other conferences talk about just how tough their conference is and how over-hyped the SEC is. Sorry, I just can't help but smile.

Go Dawgs!

I'm afraid that Alabama may get into trouble over last night's game.

It is a violation of NCAA rules to have a spring scrimmage game in January.

I think you make a valid point. That's what is so wrong with the BCS set up. I say it should go to a playoff system. The conference champs should play each other until there are just two. That way everybody gets a fair shake.

I was as the UGA-Auburn game at Auburn this year. The Bama game started about an hour before ours. Every time Texas A & M scored on Bama the Auburn fans roared and cheered louder than if their team had just scored on the Dawgs. Such is the definition of a rivalry.

There really was a playoff game. It was the SEC Championship game, as it has been for the last several years.

Alabama had three regular season games decided within the last minute and they won two of them. A few years ago they lost to LSU but beat them soundly in the BCS National Championship game. I think any of the top tier teams could beat any other one on a good day. I think that Georgia or Texas A&M could have just as easily have been National Champion. That funny shaped ball makes some weird bounces sometimes and sometimes a bounce in the right direction changes a game.

In my opinion, Notre Dame was ranked No. 1 partly because it was undefeated but to a large extent because it was Notre Dame.
