So I'm sitting here at my desk at lunch, enjoying some leftover chicken fried steak, and listening to some classical music when the boss stops by for a minute.
As he is talking to me, he stops mid-sentence and asks "what's that are you listening to?". I reply "the second movement of Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp"
He just starts stammering. "you? You listen to Mozart? But... but... You ride a Harley! You drive that absurd truck of yours. You curse like a sailor! YOU HAVE TATTOOS...!" I pointed out that I in fact do not
have any tattoos. I guess his mind just filled in that part on its own.
He just couldn't process that a guy like me could enjoy classical music from time to time. I admit I am a pretty coarse fellow in general, but I was almost offended at his reaction. Like Mozart only belongs to the 'upper crust' of society.
I just smiled at him and said "Sorry if my knuckles don't always drag the ground like they are supposed to, sir". He wandered out of my office muttering "i'll be damned...." I still don't know what he wanted in the first place.
