We all are pretty much aware of the long wait times and low inventory for RV's. It is just as bad with trucks.
I have a 2012 f350 Powerstroke King Ranch, and a 2018 F150 Platinum. Both have positive equity due to the market, but to take advantage of it, I would need something to replace it. Since demand is high, supplies low, there are not many new trucks on lots, and those that are have $5K-$10K markups, even though Ford Corporate said not to. So in order to get a truck, it must be ordered.
I ordered one, it is expected in 9 months! I have chatted with others who have placed orders, some have ordered base model, few options and get one built within what used to be the norm 8-12 weeks, others ordered trucks March of last year and STILL don't have a VIN. Their orders were confirmed, but due to allocation issues, or options on the order not available, they have not been scheduled. One guy has been waiting a year for his to be built and still has no VIN.
Crazy times, and the Canada Trucker Protest set production back two weeks, plus there is still a chip shortage.
I got my F150 Platinum I special ordered in 8 weeks back in 2018, and now it is 40-50 weeks for them to be built.
