Winter is OK. Spring is great! I dread the heat of summer that comes after spring. Then comes autumn, the best camping season.

Thinking about that hot blazing sun of summertime makes me appreciate winter.

Don’t know where you live and climate but this winter has been relentless in PA mountains. When I was younger I lived for winter. Snowmobiling was my passion, competitive racing and trail riding with my family and friends but as I got older my priorities changed. I’ll take the heat of summer any day! I’d rather sweat than shiver any day.

ALMOST without exception......there’s nobody camping North of the Mason-Dixon Line this time of year......by choice.

For any of you who are, I’ll bet getting a campsite wasn’t nearly as difficult as it is in June, July and August, so summer gets the vote on this discussion.

Forecast here is for lows of -15 and highs up to -6 and couple more inches of snow.
Not sure what is worse, can only layer on some many clothes before you can't move and in the summer you can only take off so many before you draw the attention of the local constable.
but at least you can go camping.

I’m with ya b2b, I think we live in the same central Iowa community. Have spent the winter booking campsites for 21 season and watching RV YouTube videos

Up here in the Great (not so white) North......we’ve been booking campsites since December. Provincial campgrounds only allow you to book 5 months to the day of when you’d like to camp.

If all we’re allowed is to camp within our own Province.....so be it. At least it’ll still be camping......which is waaaaaaaaay more than we can do this time of year.

BTW......not impressed by that Groundhog and his prognostication either.

Currently not too warm here not very far South of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Covered in ice right now and 8" forecast for Sunday night and Monday and then another 3" snow on Wednesday next week.
19F tonight then 17 tomorrow night, 10 Sunday night, -1 Monday night !

I HATE WINTER !!!

It's winter I guess...

Texting a family member who pulls his rig to the southwest every winter (lurks here?). Says they expect snow and 3 degrees(F) in Texas where he is?!?

Maybe I should start a thread asking what truck can tow our camper to Hawaii.

Yes, can't wait for spring.

Us "ARVEE" people can appreciate the change of seasons. Buncha nuts...

All you cold climate folks are welcome to visit us in the south and while we don't have bone chilling weather, the rain has become relentless. I actually canceled a camping reservation this weekend as nothing but rain in the forecast through mid next week. I will take a dry hot summer day anytime.

Happy and safe camping out there!

actual Mason-Dixon line is the name of a real geographic line that was surveyed between 1763 and 1767 by Charles Mason (astronomer) and Jeremiah Dixon (surveyor) in the resolution of a border dispute involving Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware in Colonial America. The original border has Maryland about 20 miles further north which cut right through the middle of Philadelphia. I used to drive to work through that little wedge in Delaware of 12 mile circle and recall seeing signs in protest about moving said property to different state.

Pretty interesting reading if you into American history.

I a looking forward to spring, when all the traffic goes back north .
where I live traffic goes down almost 50% around Easter.
not sure about camping much this year because we are not 65 and can't get covid shot. But hopefully by fall it will be available and maybe I will use all my vacation in the Outerbanks for the month of October.

Depending on who you ask Wisconsin consumes either the most brandy in the nation, more brandy than all other 49 states combined, or 90 percent of brandy distilled world wide. Wisconsin does consume disproportionate amounts of the liquor. Dated Nov. 2009

Well ya gotta be #1 at something!

Oh ya we're ranked the #5 state in beer Consumption in the USA
