Beg to differ. It went to $4.29 for unleaded today here in Grand Rapids, MN! Up .10 today, yesterday was .20, day before was .10, etc. I do not understand these quick price hikes. Never seen it happen so fast and without a hurricane in the Gulf.

In CT, we have the grand distinction of having the highest gas\diesel taxes in the contiguous 48 states. Currently we're at $4.09 for diesel, $3.20 for #2 HHO and $3.59 for reg unleaded. And mot even a kiss with those prices.

That is exactly what it is. Diesel has been 3.89 here for over 6 months. An hour and a half up the road, two weeks ago, in the same state 3.62. I can't wait to see what it is up there as I pull into town tonight. But, there is no logical reason it remains 3.89 and be almost .30 cheaper up the road.

Minneapolis MN....
Gas: $4.29
Diesel: $3.99

Prices jumped about $.60 in less than a day this week and we are being told the increase is due to a changing over of the "blend of fuel" from winter to summer. The price increase should last for just about week which would be right after Memorial Weekend. Hmmmm. This kind of thing happens every Memorial Day just not a $.60 increase.

Washington State law makers are talking over a new tax for the electric cars to make up for the loss of fuel tax revenue, they want their money one way or another......Diesel here just North of Seattle is running about 4.10 a gallon.

Agree warmovies. The price used to spike right before a holiday weekend. Now it spikes 2-3 wekeends before a holiday.
Plymouth, MN 4.39 gas, 3.82 diesel - use gas buddy!!!!
Also heard 2 refineries went offline in Chicago area recently. Gas should be lower as USA has huge refining capacity compared to other countries. The trucks and the trains are hauling tanks of crude out of SD all the time. I am convinced that crude oil is being sold overseas instead of taking care of the homeland. It is more profitable to sell it overseas is the only reason.

I agree altho' I have a gasser. There's nothing we can do about the price of gas or diesel except bitch, so why bother? Either pay it or go home and park it.

If it is going overseas, and I'm sure it is, it's because we don't have enough refining capacity. The last major refinery was built in the 70s and we didn't have the various gas blends by season and state. It was just leaded, unleaded and premium. Thank your neighborhood tree hugger.

My friends from Germany find it amusing that we are unhappy at $4 a gallon. They said even 20 years ago that was a good price in Bavaria.
