I live alone but like the exercise walking a block and a half uphill.

When I get too old to do that my Son or Daughter will probably be reading my mail to me while lying in bed.[emoji57]

I was more of a BOSCO chocolate syrup guy myself. At least I never went through the emotional upheaval that Ralphie had when he got his Secret Decoder Ring in "A Christmas Story."

I remember Ralphie's eyeglasses. To me it had a special meaning. I did EXACTLY the same thing with my BB Gun, shooting it in our basement. Only difference I broke the Right lens.

I got my BB gun for Christmas too.

I still have a mark on the bridge of my nose, right between my eyes, where my oldest brother (not Mike) shot me with a BB gun as I stepped out from behind a tree (he claimed he didn't know I was there. I was probably about five or six at the time. A half inch to either side and he'd have shot my eye out. Really.

Do you remember when every mother in creation would say:

“It’s all fun and games until someone puts an eye out!”

Mine said that almost as much as she said, “Because I said so!”

...Or the standard lines:

"you just wait until your father gets home"

and

"stop that crying before I give you something to cry about"

Or...argue with my brothers and sisters, on who was getting to ride in the front passenger seat....
Was always an issue, when traveling to town.

My Son and Daughter loved to ride in the rear facing seat in the family station wagon. Made faces at drivers that stopped behind them at stop lights.

Or so their Mother told me as they didn't come into my life until much later in their lives.

Who remembers making one of these some 50-60 years ago? (Assembly instructions were first published in an obscure comic book)

Rattlesnake Eggs. Suckered many a kid by letting them open the envelope back in High School. The look on their face was priceless.
