That was the beginning of the end of small family dairy as it took away extra income. I lived my first 20 years on unpasteurized whole milk, butter and butter milk from our own and neighbor cows.

I guess it didn't sink in my thick skull that it made me so sick I died.

Santa seems to have been replaced by Polar Bears.

Something tells me that he became politically unacceptable because of his shape.

I had a lot of whole milk on on the farm and have lasted 77+ years (birthday in just over a month for 78). Unfortunately a lot of whole milk was produced an a lot of farms across the country that was contaminated and did kill people. Pasteurization put pretty much and end to that.

We can still buy whole milk from local dairy's but the regulation is extremely strict.

Nabisco Shredded Wheat where each "biscuit" pretty much filled a kid's size bowl. The layers in the box were printed with 'Mark Trail's Trail Tips" and showed you all kinds of camping tricks from making a shelter, building a fire, to catching small animals in traps/snares for dinner.

Numbered and you tried to collect full sets.

My dad used to put strawberry freezer jam on those big Nabisco biscuits. Good memories.

Building Estes rocket and chasing them down on your bike? Some of the multi-stage rockets were pretty cool. One of the guys in my older brothers' group of friends had a Saturn V. That really ate engines, though. It was usually the climax of a rocket meet.

I know I'm younger than a lot of posters here but does anyone remember these? My mom was cleaning out her basement and found these the other day. They served me well in grade school in the 80s.

Don't forget Norelco electric shavers, with Santa riding the "floating heads" like a sled down the hillside. While the background song was "floating heads, floating heads, floating all the way....." sung to the tune of jingle bells.......

We had fun with those for a while as well, then our State made the rocket fuel illegal to sell or purchase.

Had one with Roy Rogers on it. I remember the thermos' didn't last long as they were glass lined. Not the ideal thing for a kid to carry around in a tin box.

Those lunchboxes are collectable. But only if the Thermos is intact which is rare.
