Stayed there numerous times. Nice rooms, friendly staff. We like the buffet, but there is also a sports bar and another restaurant. Buy your tickets for the parks there, and make use of their transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. There is a small exchange there. You can walk to Disney's Polynesian (across the street) to eat there and shop there, also use the monorail from the Polynesian. They do charge to park in their parking garage. Enjoy!
Also, if you bring an RV with you, ask the manager where you can park it while you're there.

Thanks Bill & Gail that is helpful we are flying in non stop from Harrisburg PA will arrange a van to take the eight of us to Shades of Green. I bought the advanced military discount tickets already from Shades of Green also Universal World tickets. Not sure if I will get the fast pass tickets to Universal any thoughts on that? How far of a walk is it from the Shades of Green to the Polynesion I can't walk allot. Plan to rent a mobility scooter at Disney World daily.

Been to SoG many times as well, go every year. 5 min to Polynesian. Bus service from there to a Transportation and Ticket Center, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, animal kingdom and blizzard beach/ typhoon lagoon. Driven mostly by retired military. You will need to show military ID and AND SoG passID to ride. Be prepared for LONG lines if you take backpacks into the park. They search them scrupulously. Cups of Water are FREE in the parks from anywhere that sells beverages in cups...not the sidewalk vendors. I could go on and on and on...
