first drive after surgery
Had my right leg amputated Aug 14, and finally felt like trying to drive yesterday. I spent some time in mall parking lot, then drove home, about 5 miles. Have been using left foot to brake for the last 6 years, so just a little getting used to using it for gas pedal also. Will need more practice though before trying the MH. No rush, still have 8 weeks of at home IV antibiotics to do.

That's excellent progress Richard! I'm sure it has to give you a good feeling to know you'll be back to driving the MH before you know it. Like you said, you've got 8 weeks, don't push it too hard and keep the steady progress! Happy Labor day Richard.

" finally" felt like trying to drive yesterday? It's only been just over two weeks! I'm sure it feels like a long time to you, but I'm impressed that you are ready to drive at this point. I applaud your spirit and your determination to drive the MH again. Keep up the good work. Happy Labor Day to you.

Soooooo glad to hear you are doing well!
What's the verdict on your better half's car? (Z4?) Is that what you drove?
Eight weeks of antibiotics? Yikes.
Take care. It's really good to see that you're doing well.

Haven't tried the Z4 yet, only drove it once in the last 4 years, couldn't get behind the wheel. I drove my car, Chevy HHR. She has driven me in the Z4, crutches are a bit of a pain to hold though.
