The article says it won't go into production, but I think it would be a big seller !!

Might be a teaser for a future F-150.

It's a concept truck just to see what the media and public think of added features and the design. I'm not to sure about it sharing the same frame as the Transit van. What's that going to do to the payload rating?

Built on a Transit platform, which I assume they mean the frame, a person couldn't pull much with it.

if you like the truck check out the Detroit auto show. Ford showed the 2015 f150 and it is based off the atlas concept. the new f150 will use aluminum based body panels for weight savings. There will be new engines and plenty. Check it out. Chevy and Ram may have shown their hands a little too early. Ford f150 may be the #1 for the next 20 years.

looks like an 80's Japanese sports car. Lots of edges and angles and scoops and "surface excitement".
To my eye, it looks overdone and ostentatious. Edgy just for the sake of edgy. I'll pass.

All I have to say is Nice, VERY NICE...I also believe this will go into production...Ford has made a serious committment to new edgy styles and it has shown in the new Fusion (which I have), the new Escape (which my wife has), and the new Mustang slated for release for 2015 (which I am tempted to get)...

Ford has been up to now at least very much against the light duty diesel in a 1/2 ton and have made some more advances with the gen 2 ECO Boost engines. They may be onto something with that as I checked into the new Ram 3.0 diesel option and it is a 4k option here in Canada to get 1000lb lower tow rating and a bit more mileage along with higher maint costs. With that in mind I sure would not own one from any maker if they all end up priced like that.

I may be biased, owning my first diesel in 92, an 87 6.9l Ford with a Hypermax Turbo, I am really interested in the 3.0 VM in the new Rams. Seeing what my current 2.8 VM can do, I would love to give one a try. My thinking, if you are going to own a 1/2 ton, you shouldn't be towing as much as the "RATED" tow capacity, and you never will, if you want to even be close on the payload capacity. Of course I say "close" because, 100 or so over is still "close enough" for my thinking.
