Must say this is one of the more interesting threads i have read on the forum in a long time.
Made me laugh at some of the comments.
Better than arguing about what is the best truck to pull a TT with or the best way to grease wheel bearings although those are sometimes informative also.
Thanks for the laughs.

LOVE IT !! Gonna start on a 1000' hole tomorrow.

Nothing from WSU yet. Could be the Academic year is winding down. NOT limestone. Already tested for that in our lab at work. Lab tech is going to try and prep and run analysis on the sample I gave her this week.

If it turns out to be nothing...It's still the "Most interesting rock I own."

Wondering if this one might be the same kind? Was used as a door stop when I was growing up. I've had it now for over 45 years. Always called it the "Monkey Rock".

Gotta get it carbon dated and LIDAR scanned for confirmation.

Bet we could start our own "Rock Section" here. I should get a pic of 50lb chunk of Quartz my mom found in a quarry in the late 60's.

Latest update: Still no analysis from lab at work. The one ICP-MS she needs to do it with blew a chiller connection and dumped all the fluid in lab. Wait for parts to be shipped in. Contacted WSU on Friday as I've heard nothing from them. They have the sample recorded as received...but are having trouble locating the sample... I'm going to send out a couple more to different labs.

Melted features are on the spooky face side. Hard to tell in pics I posted. Looks like a crust layer intact, but it's just that...it looks...not positive.

Because valued at over 100,000 USD just for the sample, it's in somebody's collection or Ebay by now, lol.
