FR plant tour - Rialto CA

Today I finally took a tour of the plant in Rialto. This location has been there since about 1962 if I remember correctly. It is located right next to railroad tracks for ease of deliveries back in the old days.

We started off looking at a plain empty frame and then walk to different stations. Had a great bird eye view of the floor from upstairs where they were assembling cabinets.
It was like being in a different world where large pieces of frames & walls are moving through the air. What I found most interesting was how the deco graphics are applied with such ease & speed. I was surprised to find out there is laminated flooring throughout the entire trailer even where carpet is. The walls are well insulated and the quality of supplies is obvious. I saw employees cleaning walls and inside cabinet, etc. At the end of the tour there was a guy testing all the systems including black & grey tanks.
It was interesting to see all the different stages and well worth the 20 mile drive. It's very likely my Cruise Lite is a CA built unit right from this plant.

Just curious if anybody knows where all the various models from FR are manufactured? It would be good to know the locations to determine the shipping cost of new units.

Nice write-up, Terier! A factory tour is something I would like to do.

FT Chief, this might be a good question for Bob Byrne, Dir of Forest River Owners Group. He might know or have a list. My understanding is that there are 60 plants in the Midwest and West Coast so its quite an extensive list. Try PMing Bob- his handle on our forum is F.R.O.G.
