LOL!! Well the Hoffmans could mine the lead here in the lead belt. There is still plenty of lead in the ground in MO. Then the Hoffmans could hire an Alchemist to work on turning the lead into gold via Nuclear Transmutation.
Gotta hand it to Todd Hoffman, he's managed to stay on TV for 5 seasons now.

Even if you bought the Hoffman's a bag of the 'pay dirt with guaranteed gold' that I've seen for sale in Cabellas for about $40, they still wouldn't find it.

Been watching it since day one! I knew the Hoffmans were in trouble when they went and asked Parker to come help them in the second or third episode. I think he was 15 at the time. Can`t wait for the 5th season.
As far as Ice Road Truckers that someone mentioned, the first and second season were great, the rest became a joke. I try and watch the recent episodes, but I can`t they are that bad!
