Herk's wife

For those who are interested, Herk's(Lou) wife Laura underwent surgery this morning for a knee replacement. The surgery went fine, but from what Lou said, she is experiencing a lot of pain. Please keep Lou and Laura in your prayers.

Sure will. Several snow skiers I know have had bot replaced (due to age not skiing) with excellent results.

My wife had both of her knees replaced due to arthritis. I know what it is like. For best results after the surgery with getting motion back in the knees keep pushing and working them. It will be somewhat painful but long term you will be glad you did. Best of luch and a speedy recovery.

All the best for a quick recovery for your wife Lou. My sister had a knee replacement a couple of years ago and it went quite well. Improved her quality of life immensely. Thoughts and prayers for you both.

On a lighter side, My only question is why didn't Lou fix her up himself. I'm sure he must have a manual in his files.

I am printing this thread and will bring it to her.
Just let the dog out and am heading back to the hospital.
Hope they have her in a room by the time I get there.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,
Lou and Laura

Lou & Laura are in our prayers

Thanks Dunc, I read his comment last night.

We met them one night at dinner during the F.R.O.G. Rally in Goshen this summer. Our prayers are with them.

I found the manual online as a PDF and was able to find a Chinese knee on eBay that had some good as new ones the shelf, but Laura was not convinced...

Thank you so much. While we are a memorable couple, we did not attend the rally this year. Maybe we will get to see you during the next one.

Best of luck with the surgery. Laura is in a bit of pain right now but hopefully they get it under control.

My wife had both of hers replaced, and she said it was the best ting she ever did. The pain will subside, each day she will get better. She had her surgery on a Tuesday around noon, and they had her up and walking on Wednesday morning. By Thursday she was home, and in therapy by Friday. The therapy is gonna be uncomfortable, but in the long term, well worth it.
The best to both of you!

John
