DH *finally* got me to go to apple last August. I used Samsung Note for the size of the screen.

Unfortunately last summer I walked out of the office into the outdoor heat and the screen shattered. AT&T said yep, it's covered, but it'll take a month for repairs.

Uhhhh NEAUX. I just told 'em to gimme an apple. DH is waiting with bated breath for the new iphone....the screen is cracked on his 4 and he refused to update with a five. He's gonna be a happy camper with the six....finally!

He's the geek in this household. Heck, if the power goes out the clocks on *every*thing flash 12:00 until he gets home. That includes *my* alarm clock....we have his and hers.

If my 'puter acts up I hand it to him and growl: fix it please....like NOW?

i support, android, blackberry and apple at work as well as ms and ios. i find android easier to customize and easier to transfer data to, no need for i tunes, for my company phone i prefer blackberry more secure and running through a blackberry server we can lock them down as much as we want or need to.

I am Hometown Proud and still use BlackBerry. I have a Z30 with a large screen and a fast processor. This is my 12th model starting with the early pager model. I do use Apple Products, answering this on a iPad and looking forward to the OS and IOS as well. We have 400 iMacs in the labs at the college Media School. I have a nexus7 as well, need to try all platforms.

Apple is finally playing catch-up on some android stuff like widgets. But, I will not be converting. I wish my note had an IPS display, but I will deal with the bright sunlight. Heck, I will hust look at what I need from my Galaxy Gear Watch.

After the release of the original iPhone, Apple's done nothing but play catchup to the Android.

Yeah, I wouldn't call those widgets. They're just additional information on a screen that's hidden and generally not useful. I pretty much never use the Today/Notification screen. If I have to open something to get the information I want, I'm just going to open the app. If they ever do implement real widgets, I like the approach this guy took:

Home Screen Widget 'Blocks' Imagined in New iOS Concept - Mac Rumors

And while I'm cutting in other news articles, I like this new feature of iOS8:

iOS 8 Introduces Peer-to-Peer AirPlay Playback, Easy iOS to Mac Screen Capture - Mac Rumors

Direct peer to peer airplay could be quite handy in the trailer. No more need to establish a WiFi just to stream a movie from iPad to TV.

I have a friend who is a pilot for NetJets and they still use Blackberry as of a month ago. I was surprised. The text on those things would make me go blind in a week. He said they were upgrading soon though. I forget if he said Android or Apple, but I would think Apple.
