Lost Toad
Was on 85 in NC today and a class A passed me at a high rate of speed. Something did not look right . I got about 20 miles down the road and saw there Toad smashed up backwards into the guard rail. No sign of the Class A. There was now enough time between us so he must have lost it and not have known he lost it. So if you are missing a Black Chevy SUV with Ohio tags it is just north of Charlotte.

Daughter lives in Charlotte and needs a car. Which mile marker???
(Sorry.....shouldn't joke. What a mess! I know a guy whose boat trailer did that to him, passed him on the freeway!)

Wow, one of my fears since going to flat towing. But I've tried to setup mine as best as possible with the right stuff including breakaway switches. I do have a rear camera that is always on watching the toad as well.

No they do as well as supplemental brakes... I hope they hammer them.

They may very well have had a breakaway braking system. If the towbar failed in some way, and the car came loose at 65-70mph with no one steering and the brakes locked up, it's most likely going to skid into something. Luckily it sounds like other vehicles were not involved.

May Have? That is my point I have seen MANY 4-down towed Toad's that have NO Brake System,is it the LAW to have a System like on TT? Systems like "Brake Buddy,Pedal Pusher,Toad Tamer" cost $$ that Most don't spend!  Youroo!!

He is really gonna be mad when he finds out the state of North Carolina is going to charge him for repairs to that guard rail ! It is probably the one I paid for a couple of years ago ! I

Regardless of having a breakaway or not, a toad, or trailer, will most likely crash into something, that was my only point. I agree with the must have brake system!
