Overheard Conversation

Conversation at the end of shift on any Friday PM in Goshen or Elkhart or wherever the Cherokee Grey Wolf is made:

"Hey, Bubba, you got any more square hole screws. I ain't got no more and I don't wanna walk all the way to the stock room. I gotta finish putting in these dinette seats before I can go get a beer."

"I ain't got no more of them, Ed. I got some Philips and some flatheads though."

"OK, throw 'em this way. Nobody'll ever see 'em anyway."

Guess how I know this?

After changing screwdriver bits 357 times, I have removed the U shaped apparatus that one would normally dine in. I will have pics of the new set-up soon. The awful couch is gone and now the table/U shaped seats. There's a whole lot of space opposite the kitchen.

Thanks for the chuckle!
Your little conversation piece is unfortunately very close to accurate. "What they can't see won't hurt them", unless you're the customer where they just screwed her dinnette bedrail to the paneling without ever placing the support wood behind the paneling so the screw had something to hold on to.
Is Bubba a nickname? I never heard of anyone Amish named Bubba, I bet it's Ed's fault though. I could hear the conversation if they were sent to the foreman for a reprimand. Ed gave me the wrong screw.

I think FR should include with every RV a multi-head bit set with a nice case to fit those numerous head type screws they use.

Hey, y'all leave me out of this. Me and Bubba only use 3/8" bolts!

Seriously, at least your stuff was screwed in! I found two of my overhead lights (so far) with only 1 screw in it. It has holes for 6, and only 1 in it! Incredible.

The stuff was not screwed in all that well. It did, however, come out better when I put the square holed bit on.

Bubba is a Cajun nickname. I know Bubba doesn't work in Goshen and for that matter, neither does Ed. Not our Ed anyway. I was tired last night after all that demo.

Cajun ?? I thought it was an Appalachian Redneck name.

One of the most used last phrases ever spoken around here is: "Bubba, hold my beer and watch this!!"
