And that does nothing for your neighbors while your dog keeps barking.

Aren't you old enough to just take the hearing aids out?
I was really just kidding about the ear plugs. I struggle with our dogs and I know they do bark. We are working on it but it's a work in progress.

Citrus or ammonia can cause severe burns if it gets in a dogs eyes. They do make a citronella product that does the same thing. Yes we have tried it. No I will not cause injury to an animal to make him or her stop barking.

But it's ok to cause discomfort to humans?

You are stirring up the pot now OC. Please before anyone sprays a dog with citrus or ammonia spray it in your own eyes first. Not the way to train a dog.
I think as long as there have been dogs there have been people not happy with them barking. Anyone parked next to me knows I alway ask if the dogs are barking when we are gone. Sometimes it's a yes most times it's not. A little communication goes a long way. That's the case with most of these "Pet Peeves ". Walk over and talk to your neighbors. Isn't that why we go camping it enjoy the outdoors and meet like minded people.

Back to pet peeves:
1. people that dump gray water all over their campsite.
2. people that reserve a site that is too small for their TT or 5ver.
3. back to barking dogs, leave them home or put in a kennel, I don't want to listen to them.
4. the ATV or golf cart up and down the road, how about walking or taking a bycycle.

I've seen some dogs with muzzles on the would not allow a dog to bark.

So, if the people next to you are NOT like-minded (meaning they don't go camping to hear someone's dogs barking), you can always say "I struggle with our dogs and I know they do bark. We are working on it but it's a work in progress." I'm sure that will satisfy them - might even cause them to enjoy the noise. I like that plan.

I can say this dog barking banter has the attention of the site team.
My neighbors at my seasonal site have dogs that bark bark.
We told them about , met their dogs and now its better to the point I can live with it.

Boy, do I have a deal for you.....If you can approach B-Boy ( a want-a-be fire house dog....a lot smaller though) and put a muzzle on him, I'll give you the keys to the kingdom.......or, a band-aid!

And this pet peeve thread goes the way of most. Not interested in debating the issue. I will be at Goshen. Ask not to be next to me.

Jet skis. We used to love camping at a state park, nice and serene. Now the sounds of jet skis is overwhelming from sunrise to sunset. Add to that trying to fish on a dock or in a canoe and having to deal with the wakes in no wake zones that are clearly marked. Our dogs are barkers, we leave them at home.
Question since I saw one peeve mentioned a couple of times; How does cigarette smoke bother someone when they are surrounded by camp fires and charcoal BBQ grills?

Back to pet peeves:
I agree with those who don't like strangers cutting across sites. I've had teenagers ride their bikes between my trailer and my picnic table.
I agree with those who don't like to hear the near constant barking of other peoples' dogs.
But my number one peeve is 60m candlepower of lights shining from the next (or next next) site. One guy had a 5 gallon bucket light suspended on a line 25' feet above his MH plus another one under the MH (neither of which shined in his windows but in all other units in the park) PLUS he had approx. 386 feet of multicolor rope lights strung between all the trees and lying all over his site. I just KNEW an airline pilot attempting to land at DFW International Airport would set his airliner down on our sites thinking he was seeing the lights at the airport.
