Because I want it off It drives me nuts. I don't need to reduce humidity in January when its -5 in the cab in the morning.

The funny thing is everything is off. Blower, temp set to cold, not on auto, nothing. It just turns on the AC and its not blowing out the defrost vents. It blows out the damn dash vents. It actually turns itself to " auto", not defrost. And it lights up the touchscreen with AC and Auto. I'm waiting for the touch screen to flip me the bird.

Now if its supposed to do it I just wish they could tell me that somewhere. Hell, if it wants to do something that helps, turn the heat on and defrost, not the damn AC when its -5 I have scoured the manual, have looked in forums till my eyes popped out, have had it to the dealer twice, and have emailed GM directly. No answers. A lot of dumb looks like I'm making it up. Even if there is something amiss its a little hard to fix when you don't know how its supposed to operate to begin with. By that I mean the dealer, the service writer and mechanics and GM factory support.

You have temp set to " cold" and wondering why the ac comes on? Its all about the ambient temperature. Its below freezing, therefore humidity will be present inside the cab.

Anywho.....

The quality of my truck has been better than I expected... That being said, the quality of service I have received at the dealership where I bought it has been... as Mr Havercamp so deftly put it.... sheeet! The things I took it back for were really minor, but the dealership's "techs" turned each one into a major hassle. Now I drive to Granbury... about 30 miles away... for warranty and recalls. Four recalls were all addressed with a 2-hour wait... at the dealership in Granbury.

IMO, because cars/trucks have so much more technological advances, these are also more points of failures. Case in point, I just saw a video by Scotty Kilmer about one shock on a Mercedes costing $1100 just for the part. It also is computer aided so even after installing it, you have to have the car's computer to adjust it's air assisted ride to make it work correctly.
