I have a Phantom 3 that I like to fly. I don't fly it over the camp ground so I don't disturb other campers. There are usually nice scenic places nearby. My favorite is to fly it off a mountain overlook.

Just purchased the Mavic Pro. Have only flown it a couple times, so much to learn.

Will watch this thread with interest ...
we would like to map / photograph a piece of land, mostly wooded, and maybe even come away with a photo or video "tour." In simplest terms, it is about 1000 feet by 1000 feet square.

Kinda hard to disturb campers at 150'. 1) It against FAA to fly over people, highways and federal parks, It is also a no,no to fly over private land without permission, alot of CG's will give you that permission, Always ask first. State parks and Corp CG's are against the law, but private is whole different ball game....It's even against the law to fly over federal lakes and reservoirs.

I have a phantom and have taken picture/videos at different parks. Just ask the staff, some want a video of their park.

Yep you are 100% correct, If it's good they post it as an advertisement. It would cost them a mint to get the same footage from a camera man in a helicopter.....

You need to be careful what the video is used for. If it is used in any way associated with a business it may require a commercial license even if you took it as a hobbyist.

I suspect this thread will turn sideways real quickly.

Count me in with a Phantom 3 Advanced and a Phantom 4.
