RV movies

On our flight to London I finally had a chance to watch the movie The Leisure Seeker. The leisure seeker is a vintage RV and story revolves around two married senior citizens taking one last RV road trip before his Alzheimer’s does him in. I was hoping this movie would be along the lines of the Robin Williams movie, RV. It ain’t!

If you’re a senior like myself don’t bother with this movie, it’s too depressing.

If you’re a younger person don’t bother with this movie, it’s too depressing.

If you’re looking for a fun movie featuring an RV don’t bother, it’s too depressing.

On the other hand if you’re looking for a sad movie, this one is for you.

Alzheimer’s is too painful a topic. Our go-to RV movie is Long, Long Trailer.

Mine is Terminator 3: Rise of the machines.

Only because they spend a lot of time in a Winnebago Chieftain 33RQ that was identical to the one I owned at the time.

As I just pointed out in a similar thread last night, I think I was scarred at a young age by the 1975 movie "Race with the Devil" and can never purchase a Winnebago type RV.

Plan on watching it tonight for Halloween though.

The Blues Brothers. Two RVs are featured in this one, and both get totally destroyed. The truck camper is the much funnier one, with the guys on the cabover bed staring out the front window while the chase is on. Classic hilarity at its best.

I don't have an "RV Movie" but I have a huge box of DVD's in my TT for when I want something to do in the evening beside sitting outside and swatting mosquitoes.

I hit the $5 (or less) bin at walmart during every shopping trip and grab whatever appeals to me. Price is right and I've scored quite a few relatively good movies for less than the price of a theater ticket.

There's a flying Winnebago in "Spaceballs" that really flies when they pour in the "liquid schwartz". Lets not forget the GMC motorhome/urban assault vehicle in Stripes. Those are two funny movies featuring classic RV's.

You could buy a boxed set of all season/episodes and turn it into a really long movie.

All though hardly any time is spent in the RV, you can’t go wrong with Christmas Vacation. The RV is almost a key character.

“Oh that there, that’s an RV.”

We're the Millers is a pretty good movie with an RV playing a big part of the plot. It's not exactly "family friendly" though...
