Sad Day

Just had to call our oldest son Mardy with some very sad news. We have been keeping his 2-1/2# Yorkie while he is in California working. Let him out this morning to do his thing and for the 1st time in over a year, he ran straight thru the trees to US Hwy 601 and got hit by a car. He had never even ventured that direction before in the many times we've kept him.

RIP Buddy!

Sorry for your loss, OC. They have a way or working their way into your heart, even if they're not "yours" per se. Losing pets (either to accident or old age) is one of the hardest things we go through as humans, I really believe. Hang in there.

Sorry for your loss. I found my dog playing in the road on Sunday also. She never has ventured near the road before. It was very scary because where I live they come by doing 40 or 50 MPH even though there is a stop sign only yards away. I made sure she understood that I was not happy about it.

Sorry to hear about your Grand dog, it is so hard to lose a pet, they leave their paw prints on our heart.

One of the hardest things I've done was calling Mardy and then digging Buddy's grave crying. Yes, even a crusty old codger like me cries.

We've kept him numerous times in the last 2 yrs and he never went to the woods between the garage and the hwy. Always went the opposite direction to the east end of the house to the wooded area to do his jobs. He loved running in the woods as Mardy would take him out in the "right of ways" while he was inspecting utility poles and steel towers for Osmose. So sad.

Sorry to hear that OC. Real bummer. Pets really know how to tug on our heart strings don't they. Wishing you peace and comfort in this time of loss.

Very sorry to hear, O.C. You told me a few weeks ago you admired my attitude towards my leg problem, well I have a feeling you have the same kind of attitude. Time heals. I'll be thinking of you when I have my surgery next week. God bless. Rick

The loss of a family pet is very tragic - many of us here have been in that same position way too often ourselves - it never gets any easier 😞
