Safety Chains on 5th wheel hitch

Just wondering if anyone uses safety chains with their 5th wheel hitches. Is it necessary? I can't say that I've seen them on anyone's 5th wheel.

Not required but nothing says you can't.

Ok, I was curious. Someone asked if I had them. I just haven't seen them used by anyone. I've never had them. Thanks

There is some discussion on the various forums about the requirements of them if using something like the Andersen gooseneck mount style hitches.

Seems maybe it is State dependent.

Not required for 5th wheel plate style hitches.

No need for safety chains to my knowledge.
