I got a lifetime plan for $500 around 2008 in my 2005 silverado. I can switch radio once. I think you could switch twice on the portable units. I'm currently at $50 a year and haven't switched radios yet. When doing your yearly negotiations, you might want to ask to see if they still offer this.

We got the free Sirius deal that came with our truck and when that lapsed we never pursued. Then they contacted us with a cheap deal and we enrolled. Later Sirius offered a unit with docking station for our home stereo and an additional docking station we put in our camper. Later we combined the truck and home/camper units into one plan we have to call on every 6 months. So far it works as: they offer a plan, then I bring out the fixed income card and they lower to my old rate. No hassle.
They had me when they came out with the Beatles channel. DW saw them live in Chicago from the 2nd row when she was 11. Huge fan ever since. We don't have a smart phone so Spotify and Pandora aren't options.
