No, that's 45 miles north of me.... I only have a few inches left from the foot we got last week.

I'll say thanks for that! We were without power for 8 days in PA and had a group from Ohio help out our local power co. A lot of power workers did a lot of good back then.

I don't believe the prior poster meant to offend - just a comment on the issues Toronto may have had. Personally I doubt it was terribly accurate.

I still remember the big snow blowers they used in Montreal where I lived until I was 5. If anyone can get them dug out, the neighbors to the north can!

The rest of the country will never let Toronto live that one down. That was 1999. Mel Lastman hasn't been in office for over a decade. The next thing we'll hear is how the Leafs haven't won the Cup since 1967!

I'm hearing on the news that the Bills-Jets game may not happen because Ralph Wilson Stadium is under a mountain of snow?

The Bills game is a big question mark and is somewhat controversial. There are driving bans all around the area and the resources used to ready the stadium could, arguably, be better used elsewhere.

We have had 8 fatalities, so far, and who know how many may be found in stranded automobiles buried under snow. Roofs are starting to buckle under the load and rain is in the forecast on the weekend to further exacerbate that problem.

Seems to me, a football game should be the furthest thing from people's minds, yet the Sabres game was held the other night through it all.... go figure.

Spoke to another brother who lives in Victor,NY (Ontario County East of Rochester) and he said they just got a dusting of snow.

I guess maybe the weather is changing - I remember when Rochester got as much if not more snow than Buffalo.

I live 5 miles at the most from Lancaster NY, one of the hardest hit area's. We had our plows come through and this is all we got in snow. The lake effect band is very distinct on where it is dropping all the snow.

I think common sense will prevail regarding the upcoming Bills/Jets game. The latest I have heard and read said the game will likely be moved to either Detroit or Washington and be played Monday.

As much as I enjoy watching NFL games, the priority in Buffalo is helping the residents there deal with this horrible weather.

They cancelled the Bills game. Seems public opinion on the greed of the NFL was the major reason why. The bills are not playoff bound anyways.

At 2and 8,the Jets aren't either. The Bills at 5and 5 might be a wild card.

The Bills could play in Toronto! Rogers Centre is empty and the roof is closed.

It's not cancelled. They're going to play it in Detroit on Monday night.

It was 49 F for a high today in Anacortes, but it was dull and cludy and rain was threatening. Current forecast is for our usual early winter dull, overcast wet weather. It might get better in April!

Our good friends up the street are getting ready to leave for their regular winter sojourn in Mexico, They leave Dec 1 and return Apr 1. They go to a small coastal village a few miles south of Puerto Vallarta, where they rent a condominium.
