If you quote the post you are replying to, the rest of us might hear what you hear. As it is, the rest of us are now wondering... what is 10mm?

That's the socket that when you buy an new tool kit it immediately jumps out of your tool box and hides never to be seen or heard from again.

The photo in post 18477 says it's from Facebook.
And I'm completely lost now because we went from 10mm sockets to 10mm stickers!

I just looked up "10mm meme" on google and grabbed a couple of the pics. There are lots more where those came from.

Got a Bug back in '75 and worked on bicycles and motorcycles that were all metric. Yes a 10mm socket can disappear in a matter of seconds. 13mm would be next in line.

I bought more 10mm sockets than any other tool. Then taught the kids and grandkids that the tools are mine. And no you can't borrow them. But you can use them when we do projects together.

FWIW, Japanese and all Asian imported motorcycles (really all newer motor vehicles) have two sockets and wrench sizes that are required to remove most smaller bolts and there's no cheating with American "inch wrench" sizes. 10 mm and 12 mm. And as you note, the first to disappear. 8mm,11mm, 13 and 14 mm 17, 19, and 21mm all interchange with inch wrenches.
And...a 10 mm socket fits the emergency retract nut on a 9200 Dometic awning. You'll want a drill running that socket on the awning if trying to retract...or extend a failed 9200 awning.
Autos and light trucks also get sketchy by using 15, 16, and 18mm fasteners. Those sized wrenches and sockets are also required for most modern vehicles.
There's more than anyone asked...[emoji846]

Interesting phenomenon.
I spent most of my life wrenching and then working closely with one of the top 3 automakers field engineering team. I have 10mm sockets in short, long, swivel, impact, impact swivel and tube nut crow's foot in every drive size. (1/4, 3/8,1/2)
I have yet to lose one. I didn't even know it was a thing.

... Thanks to bad spell-check on my phone, which I didn't notice. (It actually changed spell-check to sprocket, which I did notice.)

You are doing something right. I buy 10's two at a time figuring that if I have two, they won't disappear. They still do.

I am on a Goldwing forum and the 10MM joke is alive and well there.
They used to have a work day at a members shop to help each other fix on the Goldwings. There was one guy who would go around and craftily acquire ALL of the 10 MM sockets. It got to be they would tell him he couldn't go in the shop till the work was done. They'd tell him to help the cook fix the next meal. It was all in fun!
