State Department Fee

WOW! Joyce and I just sent in our renewal for our passports and I was shocked at the fee.

Two passports = $220.00

I guess the State Department figures if you can afford to travel then you can afford the fee. I don’t know what the fee was 10 years ago but I don’t remember the cost of the passport shocking me.

Not any better here! Did ours in February, 10 year passports. Two passports = $320.00.

they are a rip off, I get mine paid for by the company (needed for employment) and every 2 years I have to get another because the stamps are all full. I even went to the extra page book and that get full. it cost them about 300 for the next day processing ,shipping, everything, I have to travel to get to the passport agency and they give you a 15min time block for the appointment...

It is supposed to cover all the extra security checks, this where I started to believe in 'if looks like a duck and walks like a duck it might be a duck' profiling would not have cost nearly as much.

I can understand a first time passport.
But for a renewal its way too much.
I think I paid in 2006 $75 each plus picture.
I'm good until 2016 if I live that long.

Yours must be renewals? We just paid $135 each for ones that had expired in 1995.
