Wow - you get all those flavors from a cigar? I was thinking you were talking about a new brand of trail mix.

That's what I was trying to point out earlier in this thread. It ain't JUST a cigar when they're quality.

I got to stop looking at your cigar posts and pics or I'm going to start thinking about picking up the habit - and the garage ain't a comfortable place to sleep nights.

You're doing it again,aren't you?

What is that little bit of something on the band end of the cigar?

Templeton Rye - somebody told me that was Al Capones favorite whiskey.

Never could figure it out. It says AERN, but don't know what it means. Even googled it and came up empty.

Like Bama Bob's wife Joanne can not take the smell very well as it makes it difficult for her to breath. The worst time was waiting in line at a plowing match to enter an exhibit when a fellow a short bit ahead of us lit up a cigar 20 feet from the large tent we were about to enter. I don't know if it was a good or bad cigar but it smelled so bad we and three other couples behind us had to get out of the line. Not as likely to happen now as Ontario has really tightened up on where you can smoke now so as not to cause second hand smoke issues. However if we were at a campfire and you asked for permission we would probably say yes if you were downwind. If it became a problem for her we would probably just quietly slip away rather than makes a scene. What can I say....We are Canadian! Old guys (Brian and Joanne)

I would never be so presumptuous to light a cigar, cigarette or pipe in a crowd.

Romeo y Julietta Short Church. CG is like a ghost town, so time to relax and enjoy a good smoke.

Where and how do cigar makers come up with these names? Like does "Short Church" really mean something?

You sure take nice photos of the cigars you're smoking.

Short for "Short Churchill". I try to do them justice. [emoji4]

Last night at the CG until Labor Day. Montecristo #4 to round it all out. Smooth and creamy with cedar, chocolate and a hint of pepper.

Do the numbers pertain to the size of the cigar or something else? If there is an industry numbering standard, could you please refer me to it?

Thanks

I have not read all of the posts on this thread nor am I about to. To me, cigar smoke is repugnant. And if you light up near where the odor of your obsession infridges on my space, we are not going to get along AT ALL.

I don't want to be the one your DW cones searching for, but here it goes anyway. [emoji58] The size is determined by ring gauge (rg) and length. Some companies use numbers to designate the size or "vitola" and some use a name like Corona, Robusto, etc. Montcristo #4 is 42 rg X 5 inches long. This is about the size of a standard Corona. The link below will give you basic information and a size chart.

Don't think it will be a problem, HangDiver. But if by chance we do ever meet, I sincerely hope you express your distaste with some semblance of tact.
