I sincerely wish ATL would stomp a mud hole in the Cheatriots (butts), but I am not expecting it. The only upside to N.E. winning would be the watching the look on Goodell face as he hands over the Super Bowl trophy to Billecheck. That, and knowing that Chris Long, former STL Rams player and genuinely a good guy, will finally get a taste of a winning team.

We always do a big Super Bowl party at my house. I useually have 20-25 people in my theater and 10-15 more of the kids friends upstairs. We have started laying in supplies. We play "Super Bowl Bingo" which keeps the people (wives) who don't care about football interested. Its always a good time.

I'm not even sure I'm going to watch it. Don't like the Patriots...and being a Saints fan, can't stand the Dirty Birds.

This one reminds me of a wedding where you aren't really friends with either party, but go for the free food.

Speaking of that, I need to get my little smokies going.

I just read what a 'performer' (?) is going to be 'protesting against' at the halftime show. I haven't seen one in about 40 years, but I for danged sure ain't gonna be starting back today!!!

I don't care who wins........ my man Trey Flowers is the only one I will be truly caring about. But I do like to see the wealth get spread (unless it's the baseball Cardinals! LOL)

hahaha.

Well the ads are too political, and many made almost no sense if you truly thought about them deeper than the product. None made me want to buy that product. Some ensured I'll never buy it.

Brady is the best there is in many categories. He is possibly the best of all time.

But it's sort of like saying Mays is better than Aaron, or Musial is better than Trout. Who knows. Just something interesting to talk about.

I do not disagree with the fact that Brady is a top-tier quarterback. But I think that if Montana or maybe even Staubach played in the "Hands off-Don't touch" era, they both would have easily surpassed 5 SB wins. Or conversely, if Brady played in the 70's-80's, he would have had much less success. Props to him for taking advantage of the rules, but I think "Greatest Ever" is comparing apples to oranges. Totally different game now...

What game/sport has not changed over the years as it has evolved. My parents said back when they played basketball they only played half the floor, when I played was not a three point shot, NASCAR is different now then in early year. Dale Earnhardt sr. is put up to the same level as Richard Petty and some of the earlier ones. Tiger Wood for a time was put right up there with Arnold Palmer, clubs now a days are so much better now. Just to say the game is different now and the new guys can't be as great as the old is a disservice. There is a lot of things Namath and Montana did not deal with back then that the new guys do. The lines are faster, bigger and stronger than the early years.

Staubach and Starr and Namath didn't have to contend with 340 lb guys that run a 4.8 either.

Cowracer totally agree with you "it's a different game". Todays teams would kill yesterdays. Their bigger, faster, trained better, coached better. And football is still a physical sport, Brady lost a year to an ACL,8 years ago! In the Neanderthal era that could have been career ender. The snowflake rules you dislike will hopefully prevent another Junior Seau or Darryl Stingley.

Come on guys, jokes or not, we need to keep the political references out of this thread, which the site team had to remove a few.

The only thing I don't like with the new rules- I think both teams should have a offensive and defensive chance, like in college football, when it comes to overtime. of course when there is just one shot, you choose the offense. Plus there was many missed calls in favor for the Patriots (the one catch was not a catch- the ball dropped through his hands on the ground and in a review it would had been incomplete. Also the knee was down before the ball went over the line in the final touch down. Also very visible in the replay.
I don't say it would had mattered, because the Falcons blew it in the 4th quarter. And I strongly believe, that the defense was just plain tired out. the juice was empty. It somewhat reminded me about the College Football Championship game, where Alabama's defense was just emptied out. tired and not able anymore to respond. Both games showed- defense wins championships. For me, it almost looked like the patriots run the ball in the first half to wear Falcon's defense out and make them tired and in the last quarter, they started the real play. - This shows, that Brady had most of his passing yards in the last quarter.
Even I don't like it- the Patriots earned it and deserve it.
And now Falcons- learn from Clemson- DO IT AGAIN AND FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED! RISE AGAIN, FALCONS!...... yeah and GO TIGERS!!!!

Overtime rules suck, for sure. College is better. This game was won when Patriots won the overtime coin flip........

But as a football fan not caring who won.........it was a heck of a game. I have thought about it often since Sunday. Just wow.

I saw Julio Jones make the greatest catch I have ever seen. In. My. Life.

Then I saw Julian Edelman top it. In the same game.

Patently false. The reviews proved the calls were good. Those two things (the catch and the touchdown) were good.
