Thank goodness for forums!

Once again I am reminded of how much I like this forum. So I am in the market for a landscaping trailer, go to my local dealer. Salesman shows me a 2018 model that has Westlake tires on it and says "this is a top of the line unit". I respond with "really with china bombs on it?" He says that he has a 2019 model on back lot, let's go look at it. Yep, Westlake tires manufactured early\mid 2015 (code 1915)!
If not for this forum I would have been completely unaware of this tire and the problems that surround it. Thanks to everyone who contributes here!

I'm learning something here.. my new no boundaries trailer has Westlake on it.. should I be concerned? It's about to make a trip from Missouri to Nevada in a couple of weeks.

Actually Westlake tires are not China Bombs, yes they are made in China...... but we have had two sets. They have been great tires for us,

Would gladly buy another set of Westlakes anyday.

You are going to get opinions from those who have had problems with the tires, and others who have had no problems and traveled thousands of miles on them.
As someone who bought a trailer and found that no tires matched, feel free to disregard my opinion.

However, no matter what tires you have, nothing beats keeping your speed below their rating (usually 65mph) and inspecting your tires when you stop. Make certain that you torque those wheels based on the manufacturers recommendation. ( especially important on new rigs.)

In fact, doing a walkaround when you stop is always a good idea. We found our lights were not working because our electric connection had wiggled it's way partially out from the truck. We've found windows that the wind partially opened and other misc. problems as we traveled.

China bombs is another name for under-sized, little margin for error ... least expensive tire to get the trailer out the door...

sometimes you win and sometimes you lose...

upgrading tires to a higher load range is never a lose-lose proposition...

Three years and lost track of the miles on our Westlake tires with zero issues. Keep them properly inflated and inspect them regularly.
